Young Ladies Radio League (YLRL) was formed in 1939 to encourage women in amateur radio. YLRL members work for certificates and awards, and participate in contests and operating events. Members help mentor new amateurs and members working on new operating modes. YLRL offers several HF nets and supports YL nets on VHF-UHF and Echolink. YLRL offers 3 scholarships every year to assist young ladies with the cost of higher education. The YLRL Convention is held every 3 - 4 years to get members together to meet in person. Members attend hamfests and conventions and represent YLRL to those attending. The bimonthly newsletter is YL Harnmonics which is published on the YLRL website ylrl.net All issues from 1939 on are available. The website contains information about joining YLRL, as well as history, scholarships, contests, awards, and resources for all women amateur radio operators.
