The mission of METERS is to train and educate participating Amateur Radio operators and others to provide timely, quality, and proficient auxiliary radio communications to served agencies and organizations - our "clients" - for a variety of emergency situations and special events. We are all personally bound to public service with a commitment to our local communities and neighbors throughout the greater Knoxville area.
METERS is an umbrella organization composed of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), Radio Amateurs Civil Emergency Service (RACES), unaffiliated amateur radio operators, and members of the general public.
We take pride in our outstanding training programs and our served agencies know they can count on us in times of need!
