In the article about Amateur Radio at the upcoming World Scout Jamboree (http://www.arrl.org/news/world-scout-jamboree-gearing-up-for-significant-amateur-radio-presence) the explanation of the Jambo callsign says it's the First World Jamboree in North America. That's not accurate -- I was on the Host Corps of the 1967 World Scout Jamboree held at Farragut State Park near Coer D'Alene, Idaho. So the 2019 Jambo is NOT the "First World Jamboree in North America," despite the explanation of the callsign. John DE K5JY |

I haven't checked the forums in awhile, so I did a scan of the top level to see which forums and sub-forums had new info. But the format of the dates listed for the latest posting has me a bit puzzled. Some of them are in the form of "x days, yy hours ago", "q hours, ww minutes ago," and "z weeks ago," but others appear to be some kind of day/month/year format -- I recognize "7/10/13" as a standard US format, but some appear to be non-US -- for example, "22/8/13" and 28/6/13". And some appear to be neither -- "1/1/70" appears twice. How about picking a format, explaining it, and sticking with it??? 73, John DE K5JY |

I don't see a convenient place to discuss the forum itself, so I'll post here and the mods can put it wherever it needs to go. I think there needs to be a forum category to discuss the content of the website itself, ask questions, and/or provide feedback. I realize that there's a "contact ARRL" link, but my impression is that HQ staff monitors the forums more frequently than they do the feedback requests (given the response that the feedback will be handled in a couple of days.) For example, in the current quiz (page http://www.arrl.org/news/amateur-radio-quiz-forming-attachments ) I believe the answer to question #4 is wrong. The rationale is correct, but the "correct" response letter is incorrect. Having a forum category for website feedback/discussion might get the error corrected more quickly. edited to add: It also might provide a place to ask questions about forum operation -- such as, can you create an automatic "signature" for postings, like you can on most other forums? edited a day later to add: It looks like somebody fixed the answer to question #4 on the quiz, although there's been no feedback here, nor in my e-mail... 73, John DE K5JY |
