On the Contest Rules, it talks about a public "standard algorithm" for calculating the distance between two 6-character Grid Squares, but I do not find that anywhere on the site. Has the ARRL published the Grid Square distance calculation? 73, Byron |

Thank you. The QST Article is helpful for understanding how to map Grid Squares to Longitude and Latitude and vice-versa, but the BD_2004 code requires a lot of interpretation. Is there no specification of how to calculate the distance? I do understand we cannot just do a straight line between two points. I appreciate your support. |
