Additional Information: Get your EXTRA! The Extra class of amateur radio is the pinnacle of Ham Radio! Not only do you get more bandwidth to play around in, you are regarded as the one who is in the know. The SFARC Extra License Class focuses on understanding the material and secondly passing the test. The course includes ten (10) 2 hour online Zoom sessions plus 2 in-person labs. The Zoom sessions present the material found in the 12th Edition ARRL Extra Class license manual. Our labs apply the material you learn in the Zoom session. The first lab is our HF Digital GOTA. We will setup a portable HF Digital station and work stations in FT4/8, RTTY, and PSK31. You'll see how to run portable and get valuable tips on how you might setup your HF station. In the 2nd Lab, we will construct ZS6BKW Multi-band HF antennas. These antennas are an optimized version of the ever popular G5RV. Work 40m - 10m without a tuner!! As a bonus, we include an optional 2 hour Cram Session the Friday after the last Zoom session to get you tuned up for the test.
