Description:

The Overlook Mountain Amateur Radio Club (OMARC), a not-for-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3), which primarily serves Ulster County, New York, is an ARRL (American Radio Relay League) affiliated organization in the Eastern New York section of the Hudson Division. OMARC strongly supports the basic ARRL principle to promote and advance the art, science and enjoyment of Amateur Radio.

Daily and weekly on-the-air nets are conducted and open to all licensed radio amateur operators to participate. Nets are held on our flagship WA2MJM 146.805 VHF repeater (-600, 103.5pl). Public service is provided through participation in ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service) as well as the National Weather Service and SKYWARN program. OMARC supports the amateur radio community and the FCC by providing ARRL accredited Volunteer Examiners and hosting examination opportunities for candidates to become licensed and upgrade their license class. OMARC provides education to the general public at no charge in formal classes to provide the knowledge and skills required to become a licensed amateur radio operator.

All amateur radio operators and others interested in amateur radio are welcome to attend monthly meetings and apply for membership.
