This club was originally established for the purpose of having a amateur radio club in the San Patricio County area. The membership now includes members from Aransas and Nueces Counties as well as San Patricio County.
Many of the members of the club are also members of the South Texas Amateur Club (STARC).
The tone of the Coastal Bend Amateur Radio Club is informal.
